submerge

wait
slip under

water’s
salt arms
hold your head
arched
into moist air

moon-water-blood swells
and recedes
the dull steady thrum
in your head
rushing loud

fragments of memory
strip away
leaving only bare
weathered
bone

worn
sliver-thin

You remind me of when I dreamed I was skinny dippping in full moon water, molten silver, chilly, silken, delicious. I was otter, fish, naiad, undine, laughing, free.

Hmm.

Mmmmm... I tried to include a skinny-dip in a full moon ritual once, but it was cold and rainy that night and none of the women were in the mood to freeze their goose-pimples off. Pity. Our ritual was in a forested park next to a bay which was surrounded by cliffs. I miss being near the sea.
