Summer storm

Tearing humid sky
snake tongues lick through rumbling black
cool rain, sweet relief

(A few minutes online, so why not try a bit of haiku journaling?)

The rain has passed
and the sky is clear,
the plants are happy just
like the sun:)

>>Have a sunshine happy day, all ;)

Why not, indeed! Great imagery here, Rachel.
You write, "cool rain sweet relief" - we here in the NE PA could use some sun, as relief for all this rain. We have had nothing but rain and cool temps for most of May and June. Hope you are enjoying your time.

I love the rain.
Hopefully in all of this rain I will find some of that sweet relief.

You have a great day.

Haven't done one of these in a while. It's an old Haiku form.

The Rumble To Grind Me

Hot light stabs my eye.
The first fat drop falls right here
on the front of me.

I ache for the downpour start,
for the rumble to grind me,

for the change of air
after all this oppression,
for you by my side.

Just stumbled across your poetry through various and sundry means. I quite approve! Consider yourself blogrolled. :)

Oh, blow it my way!
Have it tear the ethernet apart!
(So what if ethernet isn't real. Tear it anyway!)

Yes, yes and yes! Your's and Christipher's.

Oh wait, I just googled Ethernet and it is real. It is Ethernet is a family of frame-based computer networking technologies for local area networks. HA! Hold fast family of computer networkers. There's a storm acoming!

Oh, thank you all! So lovely... to talk about the weather in verse instead of like a bunch of creaky old boring relatives, hahaha! Love Christopher's; yes, it is such a relief to break the pressure, and again you have made a love story from it. Sweet! And Rick, it was like that here, too. So the storm was such blessed relief. Naming constellations, thank you, and welcome! I shall have to check you out so I don't lose your link as things get buried here.

Love to all!

Strong haiku, great images. However, I'm pleased that we didn't get the storms we were supposed to last night. They were bordering on tornado watches. Hope all is well. Have a great day.

Concise perfection. Bravo!

Lisa, there is something so purifying about a summer rain! I was soaked to the skin today, and I feel like my soul has been scrubbed clean.

Michelle, yes, tornadoes are another thing entirely. Quite scary!

Gerry, thanks for stopping by, and for your kind comment.
