On This Round

That I should know you
like the spoor left in new snow,
like the way ravens
eye my passage here
beneath the second growth trees
north of the meadow,
this mystery life
we have chosen on this round
of the world's great wheel
is like having wings.

Tiny marks in the snow that to me look like slashes in a pile of caster sugar. Wonderful.

I love finding these bird prints! There is something so mysterious and wonderful about them.
Christopher, you found words for this, which I couldn't do. :)

Hi What exactly is this Bird print?? can anyone explain?

Rain Crab,
It is the imprint left in the snow by a raven's wings as he/she either came in for landing, or took off. They aren't uncommon here.
